Each month, we feature an Atlassian Marketplace app that we think is extremely useful and just...well...cool. This month is no exception. We'd like to introduce you to VisualScript for Jira, a fantastic app made by the good folks at SmartDraw (many of whom we know personally, and who are equally as awesome as their app). So what's the haps on VisualScript? For starters, it enables your organization to create helpful dashboards that provides a whole new level of visibility for your various teams.  Better yet, it works at scale and in real time. Whether you've implemented SAFe® for your agile software development, or you manage your IT services with ITIL-4®, VisualScript allows you to create customized dashboards to fit the unique needs of your business.

Here are a few examples of the built-in reports you can create:

  • Product Roadmap
  • Feature Roadmap
  • Program Increment Planning Boards
  • Epic Dependency
  • Issue Dependency
  • Sprint Burndown
  • Program Velocity

  • Health Gauge
  • Ticket Activity
  • SLA Report
  • Time in Status
  • Problem Timeline
  • Capacity Flow

There is also a handy, native report editor within VisualScript that assists with the creation of flows, trees, timelines, charts, and more.

To sum all this information up, we'll just say that VisualScript serves a few very important needs. First, if your organization utilizes SAFe, it helps multiple teams connect requirements and dependencies via a whole new level of visibility. This, in turn, enables actionable insights and resource allocation in a more systematized way. Next, if Jira Service Desk is a cornerstone of your business, VisualScript provides an excellent visual representation of how your teams are progressing on ITSM KPIs. This means improved ticket management, incident management, etc. Best of all, all of this information can be customized! Because every organization has its own individual needs, goals, and valuable metrics. Trust us when we say that this app is one worth checking out!
