Isos Technology has lined up an awesome panel of experts for our upcoming webinar, 3 Steps to Cure Your Agile Pain: Evaluate, Diagnose, and Get the Right Treatment Plan, on Wednesday, March 23rd. I'm so excited about the expertise were going to squish into this one-hour session - it's definitely not something that happens every day!
Introducing...Krissyn Sumare
I had the pleasure of meeting Krissyn Sumare at Agile Arizona last year when she hosted our after-party, Jeopardy-style game show. The interactive game was challenging, competitive, and engaging, especially for a crowd who had been in COVID lockdown for nearly two years. Krissyn has the kind of energy that makes you want to jump in and have fun even when you're a little out of your element (and even without an open bar)!
I later found out that on top of being an agile enthusiast, and trailblazer for agile in education, Krissyn was also the principal of a local Arizona high school whose heart beats to the drum of agile practices. Mind. Blown.
A few months later, Isos Technology had the pleasure of hosting a VIP group of students from that school along with Krissyn. Imagine career day meets Gemba. We wanted to hear about their experience using an agile approach at school, and they wanted a peek at the real world and how they might fit into it. It was a great match, and one that really made me think.
Here's what happened. A matter-of-fact "may I ask a question" hand raise came from the back of the room, and the student asked, "What is agile?" I felt like a ton of bricks fell on me. It was like a fish asking the question, "What is water?" The student hadn't been taught agile terminology and concepts and then told to implement them. Instead, she was living and breathing them everyday, being "agile" without even knowing it! My job security tanked, big time, and I couldn't be happier about it. I can't wait for these kids to enter the workforce! They'll bring with them a new perspective on change, resiliency, and teamwork.
These are just a few of the reasons I'm so excited to have Krissyn Sumare participate on our webinar panel. She is truly a trailblazer shaping young minds in her school's hallways, students who will soon be our teammates and coworkers. Imagine a workforce that has the ability to unlearn as part of its learning, one that is transparent and forthcoming about mistakes, and one that embraces talking about what's not working. Krissyn brings this unique perspective and challenges the agile community to step up and support agile opportunities for our youth.
I can't wait for you to hear more from Krissyn and the rest of our expert panel during our webinar.
