Earlier today, Atlassian shared the news that it has increased its Cloud Standard licensing prices for existing customers. This will undoubtedly create some questions for our current and potential clients who either use Atlassian Cloud or are seriously considering a migration to the Cloud platform. The purpose of this blog is to explain who’s affected by these increases, when the new prices will take effect, and the very important reason behind all of this.

So without further ado, here are answers to a few common questions that Cloud customers will undoubtedly have...

Will This Price Increase Impact My Business?

Good question. Word on the street is that this price change will only pertain to certain Atlassian tools. Here are the specific product licenses affected:

Other popular tools like Bitbucket Cloud Premium & Standard, Access, Jira Align, Opsgenie, Trello, and Statuspage--to name a few--will not be affected by this price increase.

When Should I Expect The Price Increase to Hit?

These new prices will go into effect on October 6, 2020. If you're on a monthly subscription, any bills on or after October 6th will reflect the new pricing. If you have an annual subscription, any quotes that you receive on or after October 6th will reflect the new pricing, as well.

What is the Reason for This Price Increase?

One of the things we love most about Atlassian is their commitment to delivering world-class cloud solutions. This price change simply means that they've invested heavily in continued innovation, research, and development for their cloud tools over the last year. This effort ultimately helps you and your team(s) work smarter, faster, and better.
