The results are in, and Gartner has named Atlassian as this year’s only visionary in its 2021 Magic Quadrant for IT Service Management Tools. Gartner’s annual market research report uses proprietary, qualitative data analysis to evaluate different ITSM vendors for their completeness of vision and ability to execute. Visionaries are recognized for their innovative approach to addressing infrastructure and operational challenges like streamlining operational efficiencies, creating more agile ITSM processes, and offering a differentiated product strategy for meeting their customers’ needs.
The Gartner Magic Quadrant for IT Service Management Tools report identified three core strengths related to Atlassian’s Jira Service Management product strategy:
- Agile ITSM: Atlassian leverages Jira’s issue tracking capabilities as part of its differentiated ITSM approach. By doing so, Atlassian is better able to increase automation and minimize workflow gaps related to DevOps and agile.
- Transparent pricing: Atlassian is transparent about their pricing for Jira Service Management. Detailed information about costs is available on their website; Atlassian offers volume discounts, and even provides a free tier for small teams so prospective customers can test the tool.
- New customer growth: Atlassian’s Jira Service Management currently has more than 35,000 customers and is rapidly gaining traction! Among the companies evaluated in the report, it is the fastest-growing product by new customer count.
The report also acknowledges Atlassian for its ongoing investment in ITOM capabilities and low-code workflows, as well as recent acquisitions to expand the functionality of Jira Service Management, including Halp, Chartio, ThinkTilt, and Mindville.
